Basic principles
The Essence of BMWC
- BMWC (Bohemian-Moravian Witches' Conference) is an event that usually takes place twice a year at various places in the Czech Republic..
- BMWC is oriented on various paths, namely witchcraft, paganism, natural magic, magic, shamanism, Wicca, hermetism and other that are part of western mysticism and our pagan heritage.
- The main objective of BMWC is to facilitate contacts, cooperation and information exchange among people that are involved in fields of interest written above.
- Other purpose of BMWC is to learn, experience, share and experiment and develop regular events that has a real spirit and continuous development.
- BMWC is not only for people from the Czech Republic, but for people from other countries as well.
- The main organizer and founder of BMWC is Zahrada. BMWC does not have any legal status, it is nonprofitable and works on "Do it yourself" principle. It's existence and spirit is possible only with the contribution of all participants.
Organization principles
- Zahrada suggests a realization team for each BMWC consisting of volunteers that needs approval of majority of votes of participants from past BMWCs.
- Realization team shares equally the material responsibility for the organization which does not include damages done by individual participants.
- Realization team decides about organization and program of BMWC through voting.
- Realization team decides about applications of "new" and "old" participants through voting.
- Realization team does not pay the special fee for the organization expenses.
- Realization team is created for each individual BMWC and could be changed regularly.
Rules of BMWC
- The participants must pay for accomodation and the special fee for the organization expenses in exact amount and according to the guidance of the realization team.
- The participants can cancel the application only for serious reasons and any changes must be communicated as soon as possible. After the deadline the realization team could ask for cancellation fee.
- The participants must not damage the site nor its owner's property as well as the property of other participants. In case of any damage they must compensate the damage fully. The organizer is not liable for any damage done by participants or for their personal belongings.
- The participants should act and behave in such a way that a pagan community makes a positive impression in the area.
- The participants should clean up any mess and leave the site in better condition in which it was on arrival.
- The participants must respect the realization team, obey its guidance and be polite to each other and to the personnel of the site.
- The participants must sign the self responsibility statement. The participation of under eighteens is possible only with a written permission from their parents.
- The participation in BMWC and all activities is voluntary.
- All the materials, texts and photos on the internet forum are confident, releases of photos re not possible without permission of those who are on them.
- Login and password on the internet forum of BMWC is a sensitive information and must not be released. The access is granted by the realization team to all who took part in at least one BMWC and obeyed our rules.
- It is not permitted to invite any visits that are not on the list of participants.
- Informing other people or public about the area of BMWC in advance is prohibited except for those who provide transport or parents of under eighteens.
History
Jizera Codex is a set of rules accepted on BMWC 3 by all participants and is as a tentative set of rules now, i.e. used by realization team for some decision making. It was used and applicable until BMWC 6.
- Rule of responsibility / All participants are responsible for their actions and their consequences. All are responsible for payment for the accommodation.
- Texts, messages, photos / All materials and photos in the on-line group are for internal purposes. No publication of photos is possible without the agreement of all who are depicted on them.
- Secrecy / No publicity of details of the BMWC on various chat rooms, forums, media etc.
- Invitation / The BMWC is based on “invitation only” principle.
- New participants / If a quarter of the participants complain about the behaviour of somebody during the BMWC, the organizers are likely not to invite such persons to the BMWC anymore.
- The BMWC is primarily for witches / People interested in witchcraft, paganism and the occult are invited - all others would just be wasting their time.
- Withdrawal of participation prior to the BMWC / In case of withdrawal of confirmed participation, it is absolutely necessary to let the organizers know as soon as possible!
- “Muggles“ / Please, no “muggle“ visitors to the BMWCs.
- Program / Each program item is voluntary – trips, exercises, workshops, etc.
- Troublemakers / Serous breaching of the law of the Czech Republic and the EC, not paying for the accommodation, damage to the owner of the site (damage to the site) where BMWC takes place without any compensation, repeated hostile and inadequate behaviour, damage to other participants without any compensation is immediately followed by exclusion from all further BMWCs.
